COACHING COURSE FOR GUATEMALA
A coaching course in Guatemala in December of 2008 brings about a high level of interest to use the GSM Coaching Education Programs and the Gospel to entice Guatemalan Coaches to see more than just a game!

John Banta, Director of Soccer Operation in Guatemala put a GSM Level 2 coaching course together Novemeber and had his uncle, Paul Banta, is the fonder of GSM. He has been a professional coach in Jamaica and the USA. Guatemalan coaches were blessed to have his decades of experience come and do a professional coaches course here.

Paul always shares his passion for Jesus Christ with those that come, as well as teaching all levels of players and coaches how to improve the game. This coaching course had many unique blessings that will open door openers for GSM to share the gospel in the upper levels of soccer here in Guatemala.

As with many professional sports, soccer is heavily tied to drugs, alcohol, and here violence is included. The use of professional US coaches training is just one tool GSM is using to reach these men with the message of Christ’s love.

Here are just a few of the ways God blessed this time.

• The Futbol Federation of Guatemala allowed us to use their facility for free and it was a great session to conduct futbol education! (That’s like the NFL here!)
• We had the two rival professional teams from the capital be represented at the clinic.
• The top championship professional boys youth team in Guatemala, Deportivo Municipal Football Club Boys U-16, came to serve as chess pieces as tactics and coaching methodology.
• 15 Coaches were certified in GSM Level 2 International Coaching Course.
