GSM GUATEMALA TRAVEL ELITE TEAMS
Just recently GSM Guatemala has gone into a new program for our elite players. We have recent held tryout for travel club players for ages U12, 14, 16. Our players will be participating in various tournaments, friend club matches and in 2011 entering into the Guatemalan National Youth Club League Competition.

The season is well underway... academies each day, tournaments, and try outs for the selection team. We are so very thankful and pleased with how this year is coming along. Things are really moving with each of the academies having between 35 -40 children attending twice a week (a few having up to 70). That’s a lot of kids learning Biblical principles and soccer every week.

As the number of children attending each academy grows, the need for assistants for our coaches grows as well. This is another area in which God continues to work. Through a variety of churches getting involved, we are seeing local Christians responding to the need. The presence of men from the neighborhood church at the academies certainly is a good bridge to welcome the children and their families into the church body.

In late March we are holding a coaches’ training for all of our assistants and volunteers. We ask that you would pray for all men interested to come to this training. The hearts of hundreds of children are being touched each week with lessons from the Bible given by coaches who care about them. The response to our coaches’ consistent love and discipline is so easy to see when you arrive at one of these academies.

Children who face violence, poverty, and a lack of security at home are finding a dependable mentor and friend in these coaches. God is richly blessing this ministry. Love is growing and lives are changing. Thank you for being a faithful partner in this ministry.
